IF3 visits Santiago
IF3 in Chile
The second edition of the International Freeski Film Festival in South America took place this weekend in Santiago, Chile. The event originated in Montreal, Canada, and now does a global tour to France, Austria, Canada and Chile.
Felix Rioux is the founder and innovator behind IF3, which has grown from one stop to six across four countries. "We really want to have a platform to communicate skiing to the masses," says Rioux.
La Parva, Chile
The third and final Eye of the Condor photo and video contest took place this weekend as well at La Parva, Chile, including this entry from Team TGR's photographer Greg Von Doersten. Awards from the contest were given out at the IF3 festival in Santiago.

The Cannes of Freeskiing
IF3 took place in Mall Sport, an all action sports mall and open-air venue in the heart of Santiago. "Right from the start, our objective was to be the Cannes of ski movie festivals," says founder Felix Rioux. "We wanted to offer something prestigious that recognizes what goes on in front of and behind the lens. And offer a big party for the ski industry to kick off the season."
Eye of the Condor
The Eye of the Condor awarded best photo and video categories, but the contest -- founded by Rodrigo Medina, a fan of freeskiing and the director of marketing at La Parva -- was designed to feel more like a celebration of skiing culture and community than a competition.

On The Rise
The Chilean freeskiing scene has grown immensely in recent years, with more festivals, contests and gatherings taking place during the Southern Hemisphere winter.
