Puerto Rico's Seasonal Sway
With the fall and winter surf season upon us, the Atlantic and Caribbean are once again seeing signs of surf. In Puerto Rico Brian Toth and friends are welcoming the waves back with arms wide open.
Toth, happy to be home between contest runs and enjoying life on his Isla de Encanto.
After a slow summer, noted surf instructor and Volcom girl Maria Kuzmovich was stoked to see the ocean alive again.
This is Toth's fellow Isaballa surfer Miguel Diaz. They call him "Chongi." Cutbacks like this landed him a wildcard for last year's Rip Curl Pro Puerto Rico
Wesley & Brian Toth, Andreas Carerras
"It's good to be home and hang with everyone, see my friends, cruise with my pups," says Toth. Left to right: Wesley Toth, Brian Toth, and Andreas Carerras.
It was a full on reunion, with Josie Graves, brother of ASP bubble-boy Dylan, getting it done backside.
According to Brian Toth, summer was kind of a slow season in the Caribbean. "The Atlantic was quiet. This was one of the better swells we've had in a while."
Pixie will wait for hours at the shoreline for Toth.
A good pocket turn always brings a smile to Maria Kuzmovich's face. You're smiling, too.
There's nothing like that first surf check when the ocean wakes up after summer slumber.
