Global Rallycross Championship Round 8 featured plenty of crashes and the usual mayhem Sunday at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Tanner Foust's car flipped over after he was knocked into the barriers during his heat. Foust was unhurt, and his crew got his car ready to race again in the last chance qualifier heat. Ken Block Fans
A couple of young fans of Ken Block show their support in the seating area Sunday at Charlotte Motor Speedway before the Global Rallycross Championship Round 8 began.
Toomas Heikkinen had to go through the last chance qualifier heat but he still made it to the finals by finishing third in the LCQ on Sunday at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Joni Wiman continued his dominance in the Lites class with another victory Sunday at Charlotte Motor Speedway, his fifth in a row out of five this season.
Toomas Heikkinen, Steve Arpin
Steve Arpin holds a slight lead on Toomas Heikkinen in Heat 2A at Sunday's Global Rallycross Championship Round 8 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Ken Block, who is behind Arpin, went on to win the heat.
Bucky Lasek finished second in Heat 2A, earning a spot in the final Sunday at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Lasek finished sixth in the Global Rally Championship's eighth round.
Brian Deegan, Tanner Foust
Olsbergs MSE teammates Tanner Foust, front, and Brian Deegan jostle for position in Heat 2C at Charlotte, N.C. Deegan won the heat, but Foust didn't finish because of his rollover.
Pat Moro drove the Chevy Sonic in its GRC debut Sunday at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Moro finished third in Heat 2C and fifth in the last chance qualifier.
Front Row Start
Scott Speed jumps out quickly at the start on the front row of the GRC Round 8 main event ahead of Brian Deegan, center, and Ken Block, back.

In addition to the season title, Toomas "Topi" Heikkinen won $20,000 and the inaugural Sylvania SilverStar zXe Global Rallycross Cup for earning the most points at the races at Loudon, N.H., Bristol, Tenn., Atlanta and Charlotte, N.C.
