Fresh art from Stale Bagel
Artist Jayme Lemperle -- better known by the name of his Tumblr page, Stale Bagel -- is just your average cat-obsessed graphic designer who just happens to specialize in epic puns. He put together a skate-themed collection of his work special for XGames.com. Enjoy that.
"Sk8 or Die"
Lemperle started skating regularly when he lived in the mind-melting heat of Arizona. Skulls and aliens aren't exactly uncommon themes in the vast low desert that is the American Southwest.
Fun fact: Lemperle turned this image into a limited-edition, numbered and signed print run of 10. Your gateway into art investing, at only $25 a pop.
"Do a Kickflip"
We read this article the other day about the phenomenon of people outside late-night establishments asking skaters rolling through if they can just "see your board for a sec." This seems like a pretty standard response to being told "Absolutely not."
"Sick Sk8n Dude!"
Despite the fact that every Facebook comment and text message these days looks like a poorly executed rebus, we'll never get tired of "Sk8" in any conjugation.
It ain't all RED cameras and GoPros and crazy iPhone attachments ... yet. Yet. Respect to the hand cam, kid.
The Crocs are really what make this illustration killer. If only the kid had a bike helmet on, though ... that's the stuff suburban parks are made of.
"Macaroni & G's"
Does this have anything to do with skateboarding? No. But just so much love for this, man. Poster size for the office: Bring it.
