2013 Billabong XXL Big Wave Awards
Between Shawn Dollar's record setting 61-footer and Shane Dorian's wave at Jaws the surfing did most of the the talking at this year's Billabong XXL Big Wave Awards.

Dorian walked away with $50,000 for his wave at Jaws. It wasn't the biggest wave of the awards, but it was the most lucrative.
"Ride of the Year" and "Biggest Tube" awards went to Shane Dorian for this wave at Jaws.
If there was any question before Oct. 9, Shane Dorian is unequivocally the best big-wave surfer in the world today. After pulling into 25-foot tubes like this, he cemented his position as the frontrunner for the 2012 Billabong XXL Ride of the Year award.
Ian Walsh, Shane Dorian
One's sarcastic, the other's as serious as a poison dart to the jugular. Walsh and Dorian may be big-wave surfing's odd couple, but what's particularly odd is how far they've been able to push each other, which in turn has pushed the sport as a whole.
Keala Kennelly, the hardest charging woman in the business.
Along with Keala Kennelly, Paige Aims gave the women something to cheer for. Not only are they out in the lineup with the world's best men, they're catching bombs like this. Former ASP world champion Carissa Moore called them "inspiring."
Greg Long and Garrett McNamara
A pulled-back look at the wave that got Long. "I had taken off on the second wave of a four-wave set and was forced to straighten out," Long explained in a statement to the press.
"I was stabilized onboard the boat by the lifeguards and paramedics who were part of our safety team, and a Coast Guard helicopter was summoned to transport me back to San Diego," Long said.
