About Jamie

Jamie Bestwick, long the king of BMX Vert, won a record-breaking 9 consecutive Vert titles at X Games before his silver medal finish behind Vince Byron in 2015. And, though he's obviously a fierce competitor (he holds 12 of the 22 BMX Vert gold medals awarded in X Games history), he says 2015 silver might have been good for him and BMX. Now, he's looking forward to a fresh start, without the pressure of defending gold. The 44-year-old will be the favorite to start a new streak at Austin 2016. When not on his bike, Bestwick is roasting beans for his new coffee shop, hanging at his wife's fitness studio or spending time with his son, Samuel.
