About Roz

One of the most accomplished female superpipe skiers on the planet, Canada's Roz Groenewoud, 26, is a threat for the podium at every contest she enters. She owns five XG medals from nine appearances (1 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze) and is known for her incredible amplitude. (At XG 2013, she boosted 14'10" out of the pipe.) A concussion at X Games Aspen affect her vision for months afterward and nearly forced her to retire. An astute student and math lover, when she's not skiing Roz takes neuroscience classes and will finish her bachelors degree at Quest University in spring 2016.

  • Five XG SuperPipe medals in nine appearances (1 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze)
  • XG Aspen 2012 SuperPipe gold. Highest score in XG Women's Ski SuperPipe history: 93.66. Biggest air of the comp: 14'5" on the first hit of her final run.
  • 7th in half pipe at 2014 Olympics.
  • Suffered a concussion at XG Aspen 2015 which affected her vision and it took her out the rest of the season.
  • Finishing her bachelors degree at Quest University (spring, 2016)
