Inside Tom Parsons' Latest Ride
Inside Tom Parsons' new ride
Prior to the start of X Games Minneapolis 2017, photographer Chris Tedesco met up with Moto X Best Whip competitor to get an inside look at his newest ride. Here is the latest whip from Tom Parsons, days before he heads into battle at X Games Minneapolis 2017.
An FMF exhaust setup gives Tom Parsons' bike the extra bark it needs to rattle U.S. Bank Stadium.
Custom seat cover
A custom GUTS seat cover ties in with the neon yellow color accent.
Take a closer look at the 139 Designs graphics kit.
The rear shock has been anodized black and custom tuned to handle harsh landings.
Header pipe addition
Low-end snap is added to the already torque heavy 450 motor by the addition of an FMF Megabomb header pipe.
Details, details, details. Even the grips and brake master cylinder cover match the color scheme.
On most bikes you will find aftermarket triple clamps, but Tom stuck with the trick looking OEM clamps on his Factory Edition KTM.
If Tom's chain happens to snap, Nihilo chain guard will help save the engine cases. Plus, the anodized part adds to the overall theme.
A Vertex Piston was added for even more power. Parsons could jump the ramp in first gear if he wanted.
Stock suspension would make for a not so pleasant ramp jumping experience. That is why Factory Connection custom tailored the settings to meet Tom's specific needs.
Just in case anyone gets confused about who's bike belongs to who.
Home for Best Whip
Normally Grindstone MX hosts up and coming motocross racers, but this time it was home for an X Games Best Whipper.
Man behind the build
The man behind the build, Cody Leighton. Tom Parsons puts his trust in Cody to make sure his bike is in tip-top shape for Moto X Best Whip competition.
