X Games Training Day with Colby Raha
Back in black
Prior to the start of X Games Minneapolis 2017, XGames.com caught up with Moto X Quaterpipe High Air competitor Colby Raha at home in California. Back in black, Raha keeps it OG FMX.
First X Games
Colby Raha is 22 years-old and from Palmdale, California. He is on his way to Minneapolis to compete in his first X Games in Moto X QuarterPipe High Air.
Seat-bounce whip to the left, turndown to the right. Raha can invert his bike in either direction. This skill could prove to be beneficial in his first Moto X QuarterPipe High Air competition.
Eyes set on Minneapolis for Raha.
Colby Raha makes riding horizontal on a vertical wallride look easy. Being comfortable while off-axis is a must for Moto X QuarterPipe, so this is a good skill to have heading into X Games.
When not practicing his quarterpipe airs, Colby Raha fine tunes his bike skills on a variety of jumps.
Whips like this
With whips like this, Colby Raha has potential to be a Moto X Best Whip contender in the future.
If you had your first ticket stamped to X Games, you'd be smiling too. Colby Raha's future is bright.
On this day, the Quarterpipe wasn't fully prepped for Colby Raha to jump to his full potential. However, he is ready to launch to new heights in U.S. Bank Stadium.
Original Mulisha compound
The original Metal Mulisha compound, where Colby Raha can usually be found training, is surrounded by vineyards.
Raha's natural style can be attributed to a strong BMX background. Raha can send it on anything with two wheels.
No free passes for Raha. Everything Colby has, he's earned, and continues to do so. His path is moving in the right direction.
Turndowns like this are why Colby Raha has one of the smoothest styles in the game. His ability to flow on the bike without hesitation will help on the Quarterpipe.
Well versed in bike skill and technique, Colby Raha is able to make the most of Larry Linkogle's massive wallride.
Shows in his scrubs
Colby Raha has raced motocross before, and it shows in his scrubs off of the ramp.
A Kawasaki KX450F is Colby Raha's missile of choice for competition. Look for Raha and his ride at X Games Minneapolis 2017.
