À la discothèque: Tignes
You just haven't had the full European ski-town experience until you've been to a discothque and danced until the break of dawn to thumping house music. These ladies stir it up to Robert DeLong at The Melting Pot during X Games Tignes.
X Games MUSIC: Tignes
Electronic dance-music artist Robert DeLong headlined the X Games MUSIC showcase at popular nightclub The Melting Pot in Tignes Val Claret on Thursday night.
Robert DeLong's on-stage musical collection at The Melting Pot included MIDI interfaces, keyboards, laptops and hacked video-game controllers.
La Folie Douce
La Folie Douce -- home to the biggest daily aprs-ski party around -- is nestled in prime sunshine territory 10,000 feet up in the French Alps at Val D'Isere, which is just a short lift ride over from Tignes Val Claret.
Any nightclub worth its massive line out the door has a tech who knows how to punctuate the DJ's beats with a rainbow of flashes. The Melting Pot had it dialed for X Games MUSIC.
La Folie en feu
The bartender on the sun deck of La Folie Douce in Val D'Isere, which connects to Tignes Val Claret via lift, heats up the crowd in true anything-goes Euro style.
DeLong doesn't just play a variety of instruments during his set -- he sings, too, recording simultaneously and then re-introducing and altering his vocals as he progresses through each song.
Hitting the skins
A true musician, Robert DeLong travels with a multi-piece drum set and incorporates everything from single snare-hits to full-kit solos into his performance, looping them as he goes for use later in the track.
